S/V Labora was built in the traditional Danish Hajkutter “shark cutter” style in 1939 in Esbjerg Denmark. She was later rebuilt in the shipyard at Randers, restoring her structure and converting her from a hard working rugged north sea fishing vessel to a stout and capable yacht.
The vessel can sleep ten with three cabins, and two WC/heads and showers. Life aboard will be comfortable, as navigation can be carried out in the warm and dry pilothouse with a well laid out electronic system. In addition to her gallery and salon below, on deck Labora also has a winter garden, an open-air aft seating area, and kitchen with full coverage for foul weather.
The main engine is a 300hp Caterpillar and is supported by a 25hp Volvo auxiliary and a 25kw generator. These are housed in a spacious engine room with plenty of workspace. The bow thruster, windlass, and steering are hydraulic.
Tankage includes 5000 liters of fuel and 1200 liters of fresh water. Below the waterline, Labora is sheathed in copper. The deck is teak, along with the interior. Currently, she carries a 14 ft RIB with a 40hp outboard and a 15 ft sailing skiff for sailing practice.

The hull of the vessel was built oak on oak construction in 1938. When she was upgraded into a yacht the decking, hatches and all furnishings were built of solid teak.
The plumbing throughout the boat is copper piping with radiant heating produced from a diesel-fired hot water boiler.
The electrical system can be powered from shore power or the 25KW hydraulic generator, in combination with a 1600 W inverter.
The systems run on 12V, 24V and 230V.
