2020 / 2021 - Spain to Brazil & the Amazon

The dream to cross the ocean is the one desire that has lived in sailor's hearts, from the era of the explorations of Colombo and that is renewed in sailing the Labora, a traditional wooden danish ship, built-in 1939 and still wandering the waves.

So a new adventure begins, but the desire remains the same: to explore places not yet discovered by mass tourism, where it is possible to establish genuine relationships with the people on board, allowing our gaze to turn to other cultures and enrich our own. The crew is usually formed by persons of different nationalities and different backgrounds. The sensation of freedom that you feel on the ship is more unique than rare. This place will become your home and the bond created and developed between the crew is an unforgettable life experience. A challenging experience that will take you beyond your "comfort zone".

We will work together to bring the Labora to the other side of the ocean. This means that this is not a typical cruise where you can lay back and relax. This is for the hard worker amongst us, who is eager to learn. After we reach the shore of Brazil you will have grown in to an experienced sailor, who know the secrets of the ocean and will dream about the creaking of an old wooden boat for a long time to come. Once we get there you can decide for yourself whether you will join us on the expedition through the Amazon, or you follow your own path. It's up to you to decide how to live and which wind to follow!

CANARY ISLANDS          Oct -- Nov

We will be sailing and anchoring in the bays of Fuerteventura and El Hierro islands in the Canary Islands that are classified as UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve status in 2009. They both have volcanic origin and fantastic seabeds where you can dive into the stunning beauty of the marine life. El Hierro is one of the world’s most beautiful diving sites with more than ten top-class spots all full of volcanic features and marine life. Fuerteventura is known for the 150 km of beaches where you can enjoy the sea breeze and all activities related to the wind such as windsurfing, surfing, and kitesurfing.

The climate of Fuerteventura is, thanks to the proximity to the African coast and the warm wind that reaches it, mild all year round. The beaches are made of both white and golden sand and washed by crystal clear water. Sailing from island to island you’ll learn to adjust the sails to the power of the wind like a true sailor. We will be sharing night talks under the stars on the deck and at the end of the day lulled by the gentle waves of the Atlantic. The two sisters Fuerteventura and El Hierro are made for nature and sea lovers, diving and windsurfing enthusiasts. Local traditions and culture are very much alive, for those who want to immerse themselves.

The Newest Project --

Amazon expedition, environment and cultural study

Sailing west to Brazil and the amazing Amazon region, we will be doing research and hands-on  studies on this expedition, we are also looking at the ecological disaster that’s unfolding and the deforestation problem, water quality and the recent problems with the rain forest burning in conjunction with  Brazilian culture in the north. We are looking for researchers, ecology enthusiasts, photographers, writers and anyone who can contribute to this expedition. Together we will make the world aware of what is happening in the Amazon region and of the inexplicable beauty that is at stake.

I am fascinated with the idea of discovery, and what better place than the jungles of the Amazon, Here in the late 70s I  lived and worked on the upper Amazon along the Rio Negro. My heart was drawn to this wild place. Every aspect of the wilderness has a surprise to offer, from the tiniest insect to the indigenous Indians tribes. I have since dreamed about going back there and take in the beauty of this magnificent forest.” -Dave Perdew
